Ccarine runs a stitching and lifestyle blog and occasionally designs cross stitch projects and offers them free on her blog.
What is it?
To set the mood for a good weekend, I also thought we would have Freebie Fridays; each week presenting a different designer. All sites listed here design their own charts. These designs are copyright to the designers, please do not abuse their generosity.
Why this designer?
Ccarine is another designer who offers her charts free via her website. There is no regularity to her generosity; when she feels like creating a new free design, she offers it free.
She has quite helpfully arranged all her free designs into categories so we can view them without looking through her entire blog. This is a snippet of her 2006 round-up:
Ccarine’s blog is in French but google translate is enough for me to follow each story. I do urge you read her whole blog, as she discusses other forms of embroidery and her wonderful pet birds.
Many of Ccarine’s designs are simple to stitch, most are monochrome or only need a few different colours, the designs complexity makes them very interesting. I would recommend beginners to experienced stitchers alike to peruse Ccarine’s archives as there is sure to be design or two to tempt you.
Ccarine’s free charts are only available via her blog. You can subscribe to be notified when a new design is released.
Each design has a link to click to open the pattern chart. This will open as a PDF document which you must save to your computer or mobile device. If you do not have a PDF Reader on your computer, you can download the Adobe PDF Reader here.
Ccarine’s designs are very easy to read; she uses a large grid and very easy to see and easy to distinguish floss symbols. Like all good designers, she also include floss colours, stitch count, and the size of each design in a variety of standard fabrics. The last is very important as some of her designs are quite large.
