Whilst there are now a plethora of little pixel people designs, Wee Little Stitches was the original! See below for a Wee Little Stitches discount!
From the Designer
Featuring all thirteen Doctors from William Hartnell through to Peter Capaldi together with the trusty TARDIS, our tribute to our favourite Sci-fi show Doctor Who is our biggest stitch yet!
There are tutorials, FREE PATTERNS, and lots of stitchy, crafty fun over at our blog: http://weelittlestitchescrossstitch.blogspot.ca/
Why this chart?
I love Wee Little Stitches charts, they have so many designs on all sorts of pop culture, movies, comics and television programs that you can find the perfect gift for any fan, nerd or geek in your family.
For example I stitched Green Lantern for a male friend last year:
As a major Doctor Who fan, I had to review The Doctors chart. I bought the original they put out during the 10th Doctor’s reign. Wee Little Stitches updates this pattern every time a new Doctor is announced, and they give out free updates to previous buyers. You can’t beat that for service!
The Doctors, like all Wee Little Stitches designs, are small charts, with whole cross stitch and a bit of backstitch and a few French Knots; suitable for beginners and advanced stitchers alike.
If you are not comfortable with French Knots, then use beads instead. I would suggest replacing DMC 826 Medium Blue floss with Mill Hill 02007 Satin Blue beads and replace DMC 163 Medium Celadon Green floss with Mill HIll 02053 Opaque Celadon beads.
All of the Wee Little Stitches charts are only available via their Etsy store as PDF downloads.
The PDF chart pack includes a computer mockup of the finished design, the stitch count, the design size on 14ct, the floss list and floss legend, some basic stitching instructions and of course the chart.
The chart is spread over three pages with a two-row overlap on the latter two pages. The floss symbols are printed inside coloured blocks, so you have the symbol and the colour to help find the correct floss. The colours are quite disparate so it is easy to tell which floss you should be using.
However the coloured symbols do make it more difficult if you mark your charts as you go or print this off in black & white or grayscale. I highly recommend printing The Doctors in colour or working directly from a digital device.
The grid work is 83 x 84 symbols per page. This is just on the too small side for me, so I would enlarge the pattern to stitch. The design has no partial stitches or specialty stitches so it is suitable for stitching over 1 or over 2.
To stitch the charts exactly as designed, you will need:
1 skein each DMC 163, 168, 169, 208, 310, 318, 321, 336, 351, 433, 436, 519, 727, 754, 762, 775, 801, 814, 822, 823, 826, 839, 844, 893, 900, 938, 939, 3772, 3863, 3864, white.
14ct Aida (stitch count 224 x 84). This design can be stitched over 2 or over 1.
For 14ct Aida or 28ct evenweave (with 3″ border allowance) fabric size is: 22” x 12” or 56 x 31cm or a fat quarter (18 x 27″).

Crafty Kitten “I’m going to have to suggest nebula, just because of the theme of the chart! The other ones worth looking at are foggy morning and moonlight. The dark night-time colours aren’t going to work with the Tardis. Maybe also winter skies and moondust.”
Polstitches “Saxon for this it needs a darker linen so we don’T lose any of the design but one that contrasts with all the hair colours.”
Sparklies “I really wish I had a swirly one for this, to be like the shows’ opening credits. However, how about Dusk (in landscape) or Innocent Princess for a really fun look :)”
Chromatic Alchemy “The Doctors is a fun and whimsical piece, one where you can go all out with fabric and get away with it, with this in mind I have chosen to show them on RaInbow bomb.”
123Stitch has the thread in stock and offers a variety of fabrics.
Fiberlicious “Though this design called for normal DMC, I think it would be truly unique to combine variegated threads in some details such as pants, coats or scarves to make the project truly yours. I would suggest using gradient colors.”
