Why this chart?

I have had this chart in my stash since it was first released in 2005. I really should get organised enough to stitch it already! The sentiment of this chart really appeals because I have often been a griper so I should stitch this to warn people.

This was also one of the first charts I bought that used hand dyed threads or included any form of embellishment. As this design is wording on a neutral background you could change very easily change the colours to suit yourself and your decor.

This chart is mainly whole cross stitch and back-stitch, but does include a few quarter stitches and of course the charm placement. I recommend Griper’s Club for a confident beginner through to an advanced stitcher. if you like sassy sayings and have someone to stitch this for, then stitch it!

Review

Griper’s Club is only available as a printed chart with charms included. The cover is a buff US Letter (8½” x 11″) cardstock folded in half.  There is a photograph of the finished design glued to the front cover.

The back cover includes all the information I need to kit up this chart; stitch count, approximate size when stitched in 28ct, hand dyed floss colours and DMC equivalents, fabric used in the model.  I love this, I could kit up the entire project while still in the store!

The chart is printed in black on white paper; an oddly sized paper of 8½”  x 16″, trifolded. The floss symbols are large and easy to see; also easy to differentiate. Due to the oddly sized paper, the chart is printed in its entirety on the one sheet.  There is no need to match up sections or worry that you might have lost a page.

Griper’s Club can be stitched on Aida or evenweave.  Given my distaste of partial stitches in Aida I would stitch this on an evenweave; however if you prefer Aida then use that!  Use the fabric you are comfortable with.
