Corinne’s stitching blog, PassionBroderie77 is today’s Freebie Friday featured site.
What is it?
To set the mood for a good weekend, I also thought we would have Freebie Fridays; each week presenting a different designer. All sites listed here design their own charts. These designs are copyright to the designers, please do not abuse their generosity.
Why this designer?
Corinne is another French designer who offers her charts free via her website PassionBrode77. She blogs about her cross stitch including Stitchalongs (SALs) that she arranges or participates in, stitching gifts she receives and offers a new free design daily!
She has quite helpfully arranged all her free designs into themed categories so you can easily find a design in any category you like.
Corinne’s blog is in French but google translate is enough for me to follow each story. I do urge you read her blog as she mentions other great designers.
Corinne’s designs are easy to stitch due to large blocks of the same colour. It is the quirkiness and variety of designs that is so tempting. I would recommend beginners to experienced stitchers alike to peruse Corinne’s themes as there is sure to be design or two to tempt you.
Corinne’s free charts are only available via her blog. I recommend subscribing so you don’t miss any new releases. Otherwise bookmark her site and visit it regularly to be inspired for designs to stitch as gifts. Also please send her photographs of any designs you stitch; knowing people use these charts is her motivation to continue to design.
Each post on her blog has one or more free charts; these are shown as small images. Clicking on these will show a pop-out of a larger file which can be saved. How to save the file is dependent up on which device you are using. On a PC, you right-click on the image and select “save image”. All of the images save as .jpg image files.
Corinne’s designs are very easy to read; she uses colours instead of symbols, but the colours are very easy to distinguish and each is paired to a DMC floss. Corinne uses large grids but each design prints out to a single A4 or US Letter sized sheet of paper.
Like all similarly simple-coloured charts, you can easily swap out the DMC for hand dyed floss or add metallic floss or beads or change the background fabric; so many ways to personalise your project.
